a remarkable compact `ladyslipper orchid` recently discovered in China, 4` leaves are distinctly tesselated with dark green and white, underside patterned with dark purple dots, 10` erect inflorescence is covered with reddish-brown hairs, the usually single 3` flower is stunning, bright lemon-yellow with reddish spots at the base of the petals and red veining down the middle of the staminode.
