an easy-growing small ladyslipper with 5` oblong leaves variably tesselated with bright and dark green, its erect, 8` spike is purple, covered by downy white hairs, generally bears a single 3 1/2 ` flower, striking dorsal sepal is reflexed at its green base, turning clean white and marked with 8 to 10 symmetrically curving, dark purple longitudinal stripes, petals are purple-crimson with deep purple veins, the pouch is brownish-purple.
